What is SS-31?
SS-31 (elamipretide) is a synthetic mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide that binds cardiolipin to stabilize cristae and maintain electron-transport-chain function. It has been investigated in clinical trials for primary mitochondrial myopathy and Barth syndrome.
